Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Before doing all that for All Tesla Lovers, please make sure you do take checklist with you to check every single thing before accepting delivery. I am sure you are already aware but just reminding you.

Model 3 checklist for your reference Model-3-Delivery-Checklist.pdf or Model-3-Delivery-Checklist.pdf

I'm as excited to see the Y as the next person, but I have to say ... I totally despise these checklists. It's not something I'd do for any other car purchase, and not something I'd do (or did) for a Tesla. Totally takes away from the excitement of the purchase. Let's not debate that here, and wait with bated breath for @SilverSmith's full report!

Welcome aboard, Model Y!

Why do you think this is the case? Toured Superior last Sunday and everything appears to be up and running. We're supposed to take delivery at the Superior location. No VIN yet.

According to current law here in CO, auto manufacturers can only have one sales location where they can deliver cars. And tons of red tape and lengthy legal process to even be granted that one location. It took Tesla nearly three years to get their sales location established. There is actually a bill to change that, if you haven’t been following all the latest developments. It has passed all the necessary steps except the final vote, which should be just days away.

For Tesla to be delivering the Model Y in Superior, they are either banking on that bill passing in the coming days. Or there might be a loophole that allows them to differentiate locations for different models. There’s also a really good chance they’re just going to do it regardless as part of their ongoing efforts to combat the bogus restrictions and the Dealerships’ Union.

No matter the reasoning behind deliveries at the Superior location, I’m all for it. I’m only 10 minutes from the Superior SC and it sure beats driving all the way down to Littleton.

Wonder if something is up...other than the 2-3 deliveries yesterday haven't seen a large number of delivery appointments starting tomorrow and next week...there should technically be hundreds this coming week. I haven't heard from my delivery center either and my car is due on the 19th.

It's a marketing play...release very few around US, create news and cross talk.

Deliveries are happening, not everyone is a member of these forums or a social media whore. My local SC received some the other day and will be delivering them shortly. A friend of mine has delivery scheduled there for Thursday and his was not amongst the cars delivered this week, so they will presumably be getting another shipment.

I went back to Costa Mesa yesterday and asked the sales guy when will we start seeing MY on the streets and he said “You’ll know as soon as we do because we don’t find out until the public does kind of like Apple.” I found the response a little odd because I was expecting more of a response like “People are starting to take delivery today so you will start seeing them on the road soon.” It made me question if Costa Mesa has any deliveries lined up or if the guy I spoke to just had no idea that some were already being delivered. It was disappointing because I really was hoping to see one in the back being prepped for delivery.

Has anyone heard of any deliveries from Costa Mesa?

Very helpful information. Thank you!

Costa Mesa is my designated delivery center. When I called my delivery specialist yesterday inquiring about whether a VIN has been assigned to me, I was told that “all confirmed orders will be delivered before the end of the month”. Tried to ask for more details but none was to be had.
All confirmed orders? Clarify?....

The inside delivery specialist did not elaborate but imho she is referring to those customers that got the emails for March 2020 delivery and has gone through the process of having orders confirmed. I would assume that this refers to those that had an “Motor Vehicle Order Agreement” in place which makes your $2500 or $100 deposit non-refundable.

Im also hoping that this is the case but again just as the Tesla motor vehicle order agreement specifies in its language that “The estimated delivery date of your Vehicle, if provided, is only an estimate as we do not guarantee when your Vehicle will actually be delivered. Your actual delivery date is dependent on many factors, including your Vehicle’s configuraon and manufacturing availability.”

Im sure Tesla is going to do whatever it can to push for a lot of deliveries as the 1st quarter ends. This is supported by recent internal email Ive seen asking for employees to volunteer to help in delivering vehicles the last two weeks of March.
