I'd definitely consider the id.4, but the range is lower than I'd like.
The VW I'm really waiting for is the id.buzz VW bus remake...that thing is so cool!
Ditto!

the one cast mold is not the entire "outer shell."
Tesla is installing world's biggest casting machine outside Fremont factory - Electrek
If they do cast the entire rear 1/3 of the body as a single piece as Musk claims, then we'll see a lot of "totaled" MYs when they get involved in collisions.
The cost of replacement will be too great so insurance companies will just choose to salvage them.
Missing Price and Range !!!Looks like the ID.4 cute-UTE from VW will be out around the end of the year. Pre-orders start next month. 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 electric car: Everything we know in advance of full reveal
Things we can expect over the Model Y:
I don't expect it to be a Tesla killer, but competition is good and EM is very competitive.
- Apple Carplay / Android Auto (w/o a $10 charge to use media and map options)
- CCS supercharging
- Heated steering wheel
- Instrument cluster
- Heads-up display
- Federal $7,500 tax rebate
- German fit / finish
- Nationwide dealership service
Maybe we will see a CCS adapter and Carplay / Auto support finally. I will be first in line for the LR AWD version.
All these other electric cars are in "theory" at this stage. As we all know concept cars do not always execute in the real world. In my opinion I would spend the extra 8-10k to upgrade to a Tesla just for their technology and track record. There sales is proving this since a higher percentage of their buyers are moving up from Hondas and Toyotas.
VW has a history of poor quality, misleading customers, defrauding govenment regulators and generally being un-ethical.
They tend to be very arrogant as well.
.
Unethical to its workers? Please elaborate.Fortunately we're in a forum for a company notorious for poor quality, misleading customers into purchasing "full-self-driving" under the promise it'll be available in two years since 2015, and generally being unethical to both its workers, and the consumers, who the systematically CEO blames for failing to understand Autopilot, nevermind the promise above and the hands-free video posted right on the official Tesla Autopilot webpage.
A VW seems right in line, given your description.
Hmmm, then why are you here?Fortunately we're in a forum for a company notorious for poor quality, misleading customers into purchasing "full-self-driving" under the promise it'll be available in two years since 2015, and generally being unethical to both its workers, and the consumers, who the systematically CEO blames for failing to understand Autopilot, nevermind the promise above and the hands-free video posted right on the official Tesla Autopilot webpage.

That's pretty much how all other ev competition to Tesla should be seen as.Lets first see it on the market, and then decide.
Or is that to simple thinking?

And what a disappointing launch that was...way overpriced for what it isWell, you'll have to wait until Spring 2021 for AWD ID.4. The 1st Edition and Pro are RWD.
Model Y is still the AWD option to buy.
can you explain why?And what a disappointing launch that was...way overpriced for what it is
