Hi @balefire, My wife loves her 2015 Model S 85D with AP1. She does not use the autopilot and is not interested about it... The MCU has started to slow down but has not had the freezes or blackouts. I upgraded it to MCU2 so she did not have to endure the failures and feel bad about her car... She still loves it and it runs great!!! Good luck, Shawn

Had my eMMC repaired recently, no major improvements, no blackouts but still very laggy. I’m running AP3.
I do believe it’s right time now to upgrade to MCU2. Recently visited SC in Sweden. SC informed that Model X 2016 with AP1 will be possible to retrofit AP3 due to Model X with AP1 has all pre-drilled holes for each right and left camera and in pillars as well. That’s not true based on what my SC said and a Tesla rep with whom I spoke. If you don’t have 8 cameras from the factory, there is no way to upgrade. I have AP1 from my 3/16 X. Have you actually tried to get them to upgrade you?
It's currently not possible, although I did start a thread about it being theoretical and what parts might be needed: AP1 -> AP3 (Theoretical )
