I have a May 2017 - 75D so I understand that the dash cam will not work unless its produced after Aug 2017. I've tried it and it doesnt work. Got it
Today I got the 2019.12.1.1 update and it now allows sentry mode. What's weird is when I go to "Safety and Security" it allows me to turn Sentry mode when in park.
Since I cant use a USB drive for dash cam footage, how does this Sentry mode record?
According to the owners manual it says it will only record if a USB flash drive is installed. But it also says that the car will send recorded video to Tesla for a temporary backup through "data sharing". Can I recover this footage and if so, how?
Or is it simply enabled in my car and completely unusable because the firmware is just a blanket update for all Model S cars pre or post August 2017?
