Just recently placed my order, hoping to take delivery in the next few months. In preparation, I'm trying to ensure I have the at home charging details figured out. I currently live in an apartment that has covered parking and wall outlets with designated spaces for EVs.

I'm completely unfamiliar with all things electricity, and would appreciate guidance as to what type of adapter I'll need to connect to this outlet. I'm assuming this would be a 3-4 miles per hour of charge situation, is this correct?

    Thanks for any help.

Incorrect. It's 250 volts, 50A so you'll get more miles per hour than that. However, being NEMA 6-50 you'll need an adapter for your Model S. You can find one at:

This would be the NEMA 15-40R to 6-50P adapter, correct?

Any idea on charge / hour?

This should be 29 mph, the same as the NEMA 14-50.
The adapter you want would be this one.
    NEMA 14-50R to 6-50P Adapter

Tesla used to make a 6-50 adapter for the UMC, which would connect directly rather than through a 14-50R to 6-50P adapter. Perhaps you could find one for sale.

OP: Congrats on getting a Tesla and also that's awesome that the apartment has an outlet like that for you.
