Apple certainly have the financial resources to do it, but automotive manufacturing is another matter altogether. I can only assume they will partner somebody. If there's one thing Tesla has taught everybody is just how hard it is to kick off volume auto manufacturing from the ground up. Has to be a fair bet they will focus on city transport too, with some form of interconnected pod type vehicles of possibly a as a dial a ride service though this wouldn't satisfy the Apple fanbois over-priced trinket exclusivity model. One thing for sure though, everyone, Tesla included, will (or at least ought to) be looking over their shoulder at what Apple does as more than likely they will set the future direction, right or wrong.
