My wife saw a part time job opening at our local store for a product specialist, since I spend so much time giving test drives & preaching about Tesla she thinks I should get paid for it or get an employee discount (20% discount on a P+ sounds good to me:biggrin:)

Filling out the application is pretty funny, I have been self employed for over 30 years & don't have any referrals or a resume.

I wonder if being an owner makes me over qualified for the position?

There is no employee discount. At least there wasn't 3 months ago, I asked my purchase specialist about it. But working for the company would sure be fun!

That's a good question. I joked that if my wife ever wanted to find a job that working at a local Tesla store would be easy for her because she's learned everything there is to know about Tesla through me, haha.

Please let us know how it goes!

No discount that I am aware of but they do get company stock when hired. One product specialist told me 20 shares to start if I remember correctly. Not a bad 'signing bonus'.

My wife already calls me an unpaid product specialist....like many of us!

$3500 seems like a pretty good sign on bonus. wonder what kind of restrictions they have on those. I would assume an employee discount wouldn't do much, even at 20% off most people working part time or full time as a product specialist probably aren't spending 50k on a new car.

Yes. This person did not elaborate but I will assume you don't actually get the stock until you pass a probationary period of some kind. This conversation was also when the stock price was in the 90s so it could have changed.

I received the automated Do Not Reply email saying my application is under review but nothing since...come on Tesla...I am perfect for the job

    Disclaimer update.

For the record, I don't know any of the details involving wages, benefits, stock incentives or employee discounts & probably wouldn't be allowed to discuss them publicly anyways.
