Are 225/45r18 winter tires acceptable?

Hey fellow model 3 owners, the shop that I am purchasing winter tires for my 3 is out of the 235/45r18 size but they also carry the 225/45r18 as well. They said its only a 5mm difference, which is considered acceptable and hardly noticeable. I'm not an expert when it comes to tires. So I was just wondering if these will be just fine for winter tires and if there will be any impact on performance?
