Are all metered parking stalls owned by a government in Hawaii?

Do you know of any private metered parking? If there are no private metered parking, i'm assuming all metered parking is EV free for 2.5 hours? Mahalo.

Yes there are private metered lots not enforced by the state of Hawaii

EV is free for the max duration of the meter, usually 2 hrs. The 2.5 hrs of free metered parking is for displaying a handicapped placard.

For sure the metered parking at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor is private (you must pay). If you see signs for park-a-lot or Diamond, those are private. Those aren't the only ones so make sure to read the signage.
