Are HW 2.5 cameras better than HW 2.0?

Hey Gang, I'm in the market for a used Model S and hoping to get some education on the differences, if any, between the cameras in HW 2.0 vs. 2.5. I would like to have Sentry with video recording and Teslacam. My thinking was to purchase a 2.0 with FSD so I could eventually get the free upgrade to 3.0. I would likely upgrade to MCU2 to take full advantage of viewing Sentry recordings on the screen. However, I've read a few posts that the side cameras on 2.0 are inferior to 2.5.

Can anyone confirm whether there is a difference between the cameras and if so, what is the difference? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

They have different color filters. 2.0 cameras are RCCC, 2.5+ are full color. You can decide if that’s “inferior” or not for your purposes.

The sensors are identical. The color filters differ. No known performance differences that I’m aware of.

2.5 aren't full color either. RCCB isn't full color. The real difference to the end user only manifests with recording for dashcam or sentry. Doubtful it ever impacts AP.
