Are there any issues using an older HPWC...

On a new 2021 Model S. I saw some posts suggesting the MCU@ will not play nice with the older charger. Also some said to contact Tesla about issues and they sometimes swap it out. Mine is about 3-4 years old and I would guess out of warranty. Some said they replaced it anyway. Any thoughts, or ways to suggest getting a swap?

Have run a gen1 HPWC (almost) daily since 2016 on our 2013 S (both MCU1 and MCU2), 2020 ≡ (HW 3.0) and Roadster (irrelevant, lol).

No issues with MCU2 or HW3.0

Some newer cars had/have problems with Gen 1 HPWC's.

Similar experience here. Using older HPWC on 2016 MX with MCU2 and HW3. No issues.

In fact I noticed some failure issues with the newest Gen 3...

(Note: The Gen 3 provides WiFi access, something I'm considering when I will need to share my plug with another EV)

I charged on a Gen 1 Hpwc the other day and no issues. I have a gen 2 at home.
