Is anyone aware of EVs that have the charge ports on the passenger (or, I guess more correctly, "starboard") side? I'm working on a presentation for facility managers to learn about how employees want to charge cars, and while I can't think of any cars set up this way, I certainly haven't seen them all.
BMWs ActiveE, i3, and i8 all have the charge port on the starboard side. Even for right hand drive cars.
Yes. 2015 FIAT 500e - All Electric Car with Zero Emissions 2015 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid | The most efficient Prius yet new electric cars. custom mini electric vehicles. smart USA 2015 VW e-Golf | Volkswagen i-Miev looks like it has the J1772 inlet on the passenger side. I recall they put their CHAdeMO inlet on the opposite side of the J1772 inlet. Yes, I can confirm the BMW i3 (BMW i3 - Media Gallery - BMW North America ), as well. At my work, we have a few i3's, PiPs, Fiat 500e and e-Golfs.
I can confirm that for the 2014 smart fortwo EV, the charge port is starboard. But is the charge starboard on the port side?
Yup, confirming cwerdna's note about the e-Golf (have one) and the others as well (seen them at my workplace).
+1 on the smart being passenger rear side. That likely won't change either as the next-gen comes around in a couple years or so, as smart tends to mirror the gas model exactly.
