Are vehicle rendering and phantom braking linked?

Hi! Just had a thought and was curious. I notice that the vehicles around you shown on the screen do not represent the position of the vehicles in reality. All the time I notice cars driving in their lane normally, and I look at the screen to see the rendering of the car showing it crossing the line into my lane (either side). This made me wonder if there is any relation with that and the phantom braking issues which I get numerous times on every occasion of AP usage. When the car "sees" another car in an adjacent lane sway over the line, does the car "think" that the other vehicle is indeed doing that, and apply brakes when in reality that is not the case?

Secondary - can you re-calibrate the cameras?
