I remember going through the LEAF pre-order process. On that one, you reserved it with Nissan, then when your turn was coming up, you were given a reservation number. You could then shop your reservation around to ANY LEAF certified dealer for delivery. This was when you could negotiate price. The dealer would sell more LEAFs if he could attract a lot of reservation holders. It had nothing to do with allocations to dealers.

Here is my comparison:

Hellcat: Too much horsepower for skinny rear tires; a death trap

P85D: Usable, safe, and efficient horsepower wrapped in a luxury package that doesn't make you look like a fool when launching off a stoplight

I like the simplicity of the Model S... no launch buttons, thrust control, what not. you want to go? push the pedal! done.
