From december

Mine will be:

- immediate de-chroming of the under-door strips...
- under-the-bumper front plate mount
- tinted windows
- investigate inside the nose cone as location for Toll pass
- investigate adding laser countermeasures front and rear
- add (if possible) yellow turn signals - perhaps this might be available from Tesla if required in Europe?
- opportunity console

I actually did:
- plate mount
- tinted windows
- DIY reversing beeper
- added lighting in trunk and frunk
- Lloyd black mats

Gave up on the silver strip, it's not so bad in person.
Yellow turn signals were too hard and I didn't like removing the fairings in the rear, as I'm scared to break off the hooks/pins. Maybe I'll try that one later.

I appreciate all of the posts on modifications. I next week I am getting the following modifications done to my Model S:

Bel STIR w/shifters

Front and rear parking sensors
Backview

I appreciate all of these posts. I am making the following modifications to my Model S here in Maryland:

Bel STIR w/shifters. The display in integrated into the mirror.

the Front and rear parking sensors.

The Eco trailer hitch (for bike racks)

Backview dash camera.

and improved frunk and trunk lighting.

I will post pictures of the new modifications.

I am having the work done at Absolute Electronix just up the road from the Rockville, MD Tesla SC.

I will post pictures of the work once it is done.

Actually, the typical case is looking through their passenger window as they're typically pulled near or into the crosswalk. The main case being they're turning right on red and looking at traffic coming from the left and I'm on their right crossing on my green walk signal. Not infrequently they'll see an opening and not realize a pedestrian is coming from their other side.

With tinted windows, it's very hard for me to know if they've seen me or not.

This is exactly how I was hit by a car. It was night so I couldn't see the drivers eyes and he hit the throttle just as I stepped in front if his car.

I got my model S back and it works great. I tested the modifications on a trip from DC to NYC over the 4th. It was and easy trip and the modifications worked great.

I had the Bel STiR w/shifters with the integrated mirror display. I added a mount for an iphone on the drivers side A pillar so I can used the escort live display.

the Front and rear parking senors work great, I used the Crimestopper as shown in the Teslatap website. Make sure to connect the power, ground, brake and reverse wires. It does not work with all four wires connected.

The Eco trailer hitch works great for the bike rack.

The frunk and trunk got new LED lights.

I got the EZpass flex (for use on Washington Beltway new HOT lanes) and mounted that above the mirror and it worked ever time.

It is all working well.

EVMD,

Sounds like you've done a lot of work. Do you have any pics or instructions for everything you did?

Has anyone tried the following backup assist mod? I am looking for some simple for straightforward backups.

nVISION 60100VA Back Up Sensor System
Amazon.com: nVISION 60100VA Back Up Sensor System: Automotive.

I am interested in finding out if anyone has instructions on how to access the reverse light 12v wiring. I tried to access the brake/reverse light housing but couldn't figure it out. I thought it would be simple since you need to access it to change bulbs.

Do you have to remove the inside trim for the entire trunk? Is so, is that difficult? Any assistance would be great. Thanks.

Thanks.

I think it is accessible if you remove the trim. It's all snap in and not that hard to do. Just work carefully, one small section at a time. For example, the lights in the rear interior trim push into the trim and need to be removed and disconnected as you work.

I think you are asking what I just did a quick version of:smile:
bit of a hack job but...

Would make more sense but also looks a bit dated somehow...

This is exactly what I am doing with my MS, I have the green version...

So just met with my local Tesla approved body shop (J&B Body Works) who brought me my nose cone painted as above (I have a green MS), and it looks AWESOME (IMO), not sure why TM didn't make this standard, as I really think it makes it look SO much better, plus leaving the small upper "T" black further enhances the Tesla logo. They are going to polish and wrap it, so I'll get it back Friday and post some shots.

How much did they charge you?
