I wrote a letter to Sugarbush inquiring of any existing or planned EV charging infrastructure. I got a quick and friendly response that they have neither because the only demand they ever had was my letter! Let's create some demand. A ski resort seems like an obvious place to have a bank charging stations...
The next New England meetup should be at a ski resort that has chargers! I just don't know what year that meetup should occur. Anyone know of ANY ski resorts that do have charging at more than level 1? A quick google search showed that 1 resort in Maine that has 2 chargers (that are so popular you have to reserve a timeslot online): mtabram.com I was surprised I didn't see anything else. I will definitely be looking for charging stations this ski season.
Just hook a tow line on the chair lift and use regen on the way down. - - - Updated - - - Here is a link to a news story on My Abram's EV Stations from last Jan Another from Windham Mountain, NY
Wineries too! They have big power in the parking lo (for the grape machines) and people stay at them for a few hours. (sorry for the hijack!)
I sent mine to a Sugarbush email address. If you ski, you probably have a "go to" resort....so we should spread the demand. Wouldn't the support of EVs make sense for any mountain resort (demand or not)?!
@ EKnight47 if you don't mind, please PM me the email address. I know this thread is old, but hoping to get more interest @ Sugarbush
I've tried with Stratton, but to no avail. That said, I have a UMC that pulls about 24 amps in my garage up there, and am happy to share in a pinch.
Yea. I tried as well with Stratton. I've got a HPWC in my place up there pulling 40amps. If anyone needs just pm me. Haven't listed on plugshare yet
I'm trying to get Bretton Woods to add chargers at the base lodge (they have two NEMA 14-50s, but a mile away at the hotel), but having trouble finding someone empowered to get it done.
