@kemble54 mind sharing your delivery experience today? Obviously people are experiencing a broad spectrum of things when they go to pick up their cars so I'm wondering how the Decatur store is doing.

Also, any sense of how many cars were there? Did you see any performance models?

Yesterday was a mixed bag. I had read several threads about delivery and had prepped myself, but man, what a journey.

My reservation was at 3p and I live 3 hours south of Atlanta. Before I left at noon, I called the SC and spoke with the rep who was highlighting my signature pages at that very moment. Said payment was good to go and can’t wait to deliver the car. All systems go. An hour into the drive, I get a text and vmail that the SC was having computer issues and was unable to process temporary tags. Need to reschedule. Ugh.

I call my Delivery Specialist in Nevada to give her the update while stopped at a rest stop on I-75. She was pissed and said she was going to Skype the SC and see what’s up. After not hearing back for 20 minutes, I start driving back home. ONLY to then get a call about 45 minutes later (almost back home) that the system was back up and they could do deliveries.

So with another u-turn, I was back on my way to Decatur. Arrived shortly after 5p.

Had asked the SC to max out my charge for my drive home. When I got there, there were more than 50 model 3s in the parking lot and more getting delivered by truck parked in the street. Several performance models. My car’s exterior was relatively clean but my interior need some touch ups. Wasn’t too picky bc I was tired and ready to get back on the road. Delivery guy was nice and helpful.

Delivery experience aside, the car is an absolute marvel. Came from a 2008 MB C300 and this car flat out flies. Amazing ride, etc; no complaints.

Only crappy thing: I’m showing a cost (~$3) for that extra juice I requested before delivery. Pretty lame to charge ME to charge my car before I took delivery. Hope to get that off my account out of principle.
