Hey, May I know what is 3D7 ?


It was likely the 2022 RWD was either going to have the 3D5 or the 3D7 motor in Australia.

The 3D7 is a newer hairpin motor with slightly better specs than the 3D5 so this is a good thing that people are receiving VINs that list this motor so far here (8th digit S)

It will still not be as fast as the 5.6s rated 2021 LFP SR+ cars that had the more powerful motor still from the P but anyone who ordered should already have known it's now a 6.1s specified car and should be happy enough with the hairpin 3D7.

If anyone wants to know more about hairpin motors and comparison to a non hairpin motor, this article gives some good info, but it's not tesla specific so keep that in mind (there is very limited Tesla specific info on hairpin motors out there apart from the nominal ratings in the Owners manual above):

ive seen people commented that their payment details were available at the same time as the hidden VIN was available.... does that show up under the documents section?
