Australian Model Y Waiting Room

In Perth and ordered an MYP Red with White interior. Got it about 30mins after orders opened on 10/6 so hope to be near the begining of the queue. Been waiting for 7 years for this, nearly got a M3, had one on order before we knew what they really looked like, but needed the hatch rather than the saloon, so had to wait some more....

Went into the Brisbane showroom yesterday and came across this demo MY in MSM, white interior and 20" Turbine wheels. Looks great in the flesh, photo's don't do it justice. I had ordered mine with the same spec except with Gemini wheels. As soon as I saw these 20" wheels I added them to my order there and then with the Tesla rep. Didn't affect my delivery timeframe of Aug-Nov which I was a bit worried about. I just hope I don't regret the ride quality but they look so much better than the stock wheels IMHO. I'll be test driving this one in a couple of weeks. Now I'll also not only have to deal with range anxiety but also curb rash anxiety 😟

Thanks so much for the pictures! It has really reassured me, as this is exactly the spec I ordered 😊

Makes me wish I could have this one, instead of waiting til next year ... sigh.....

We ordered a Model Y last week and the plan is to sell our current Model 3 (hopefully for the same or more than we paid, which is crazy). Currently delivery is Feb-May 2023 (Brisbane). I've heard that you can transfer reservations, but does anyone know for sure whether it'd be possible to buy someone else's spot in the queue if they no longer wanted one? It'd be really cool to have one sooner!

It's possible to transfer reservations I am led to believe, and no, you can't have mine :)

Perth, Ordered the povo version when order opened on the 10th. Have a M3 on order since mid March as well with delivery 6 to 9 months from order so both could arrive similar times. I doubt it though. Hopefully can sell the 3 easily..

I dont think one can buy someone else's spot in the queue. I have a model 3 and model y in order, waiting for delivery in Aug-Nov timeline. Was trying find a way I can sell my spot in the queue for model 3 or sell it before it gets delivered. Anyone has any suggestions?

Yeah I ordered the induction wheels from the outset. I did the order for my wife seeing as I was madly refreshing the order page at the time and she said she wasn't fussed what I ordered. But when we went down to the Brisbane showroom to look at the Y as they had a red one (the colour I got her) the first thing she said was "Those wheels are awful!" Referring to the gemini wheels. I assured her that I got her nice ones but they didn't have anything we could see that had the inductions on it so I showed her a photo and she was then perfectly happy.

To be honest though I'm thinking I might see if I can get away with swapping the 20" inductions from the Y with the 19" Sport wheels I have on my 3LR. The sports are matt black coated so still look great but my wife curbs wheels like you wouldn't believe so I would be saving them by swapping. That's my excuse anyway.

Be careful swapping wheels from the 3 to the Y as they are different widths and different offset, sidewall height and and rolling circumference.
Model 3 sport are 19x8.5" Offset +40 Tyres are 235/40R19
Model Y Induction are 20x9.5" Offset +45 Tyres are 255/40R20
I'd check with a wheel specialist before swapping them out.

I saw the same red MY with the gemini wheels and I think this combo looks a bit off too.

If anyone is looking for ideas as to “modifications” or accessories. I recently bought these from Alibaba. They arrived today and are exactly as described in the posting.
