actually looking at the spreadsheet from whirlpool, its a bit random. VIN allocation doesn't really follow the order time unless the WA orders are putting local time instead of AEST

Assume 1000 model y orders in the first hour, according this link it takes 36 seconds to make one MY. So simple calculation (1000 x 36) / 60 / 60 = 10 hours to fulfill 1000 MY.I converted to EST when putting in my time. yeah, technically slightly before that (considering it takes a few minutes before you received the email, etc) - but I got the email confirmation by 11:59 on my inbox, so I am using that as a basis.

Uh, not quite... there might be a Model Y coming off the production line every 36 seconds, but that's not how long it took to assemble the entire car.

No I ordered Induction wheels and have my VIN so do many others on the Whirlpool Google Doc that was linked before.

I don't have an email confirmation. Maybe it's a performance thing as we have no tasks to complete either.
pretty sure there is not much of a pattern to follow for vin allocation
I ordered at 10:32am, interesting looking at the spreadsheet, James-Melb is second on the list 10:16am and has the same spec as me with no VIN either. MSM/White/Induction. Looks like we are the only two on the spreadsheet with that config, probably haven't built any with that spec in the last production run.
Another user ClutchWA changed from gemini to induction on Fri 24/6 and has still received a VIN. Maybe changing orders doesn't affect vin allocation after all.
