The model y is a seperate production line so they should come out concurrently rather than sequentially.

that's what u would think right? But Tesla is full of surprises.

Looks like it. This was poted on whirlpool forum:

• Factory closes tomorrow
• July 18th is when Model Y production is schedule to start again with enhanced capacity.
• July 22nd Viking Passama departs Shanghai for Australia
• July 26th Morning Crystal departs Shanghai for Australia

Only another 2.5 – 3 weeks until we hopefully see some more VIN's being uploaded to peoples accounts.

not sure , but it says that for my M3LR order that has no VIN and I don't expect one for ages

I can see my VIN assigned here in above link but I do not see my VIN in my account page

At best they'll have a 2 week delivery range like they are getting in the Model 3 waiting room. It looks like those cars won't arrive in Australia (Port Kembla) until early August.

From there they need to get off loaded, go through customs, get processed and then booked onto a car carrier to get the Tesla delivery centres. At this point you'll get the SMS asking you to book in your delivery time and date.
