Auto Hi Beams

Tomorrow is my one month anniversary with my Model 3. It has vastly exceeded my expectations but the one item I miss from my Model S are the auto Hi Beam Headlights. I'm not sure if it is possible to upgrade this via software and have not read anywhere if Tesla plans to make the change. The car is capable of fully autonomous and you would think that would require the auto feature but then again if the car is driving itself does it need lights at all. Anyone have any insights?

It’s all software on the S and X and I would think it’s a small step to incorporate into the 3’s software fork. Coming soon, I’d think!

Yes, my S has auto but my 3 doesn't and I wish it did.

should be just a minor software upgrade. not sure why it is not in already. i think on most cars it just uses the front parking camera to look for light.(hence autohibeam does not work when street lights are on)

I think it’s just taking a while to migrate code to the 3 software fork. You would think the only difference would be the GUI but what do we know...

I saw a cool video from Bjorn on auto hi beams and cornering beams on the new VW GTI. It was amazing. Not sure a multi high, low cornering beams would be "software updatable" maybe just high low beam would be, but we can hope.
