Here are two examples of High beam turning on automatically in my car. I have departed from two different locations in the dark. With auto high beam active the lights remain on low beam until speed = exactly 44kmh for the first time. High Beam turns on Automatically. Once I have passed 44kmh during the drive I can slow the car right up to a stop and High beam stays active until I select P. There is some time period the car must be left parked and unoccupied for this to reset again and require the speed trigger. Just getting out and locking the car does not reset it. I have not bothered to work out how long it is. Anyway I hope this titbit is useful for others to understand how it works.
Perhaps your car works differently to mine.
