Auto Open Trunk Mod

What's everyone think about this?

I know this would be nice to have, but wondering about long term affects. Also wondering how easy it would be to close with the little hand hook inside (i usually don't touch the outside of the car)

I’ll probably do it when the parts are easily obtainable. They got bought up pretty quick and relisted by someone looking to make a buck. Struts should be around $30 for the pair, not $160+!

Brian did a great job with both of the mods.

I think it's a good start. Good luck finding the parts though. Seems to be sold out on Amazon.

I just might do it, since it's so simple to do, and easily reversible, but only when the parts become available again. I'd spend $30 on it, but definitely not $160.

Had anybody found similar parts from another seller?

Has anybody found struts the same length as the original Tesla ones (so the trunk opening height isn't reduced)?

FYI. The springs are sold by the supplier he linked in the notes for a few bucks less (some auto-discount) and the struts were available at Walmart and Sears. I found it with a google search when the Amazon source was sold out.

They already did with the frunk, they are probably doing it right now with the trunk and that's why the parts are sold out on Amazon lol.

Absolutely. The retrofit requires trading in your Model 3 for a Model Y.
