Auto Pilot activation

I'm looking to acquire a lease that does not have the auto pilot activated anyon have experience with activating in middle of a lease do you need to pay the full 6k? I heard people had "friends in tesla" activate for free?

I can't wrap my head around why a second lessee should get something special, such as pro-rated AP. However, I've wondered if this will come up in a different way, such as if FSD actually happens, will lessees have to pay the entire price for their lease in progress.

As for "friends in Tesla" hooking up their buddies with free AP, I guess that's lucky for the buddy, but I can't help feel it's disingenuous.

Adding options in the middle of a lease requires full payment, and it doesn't change your residual value and/or monthly payment. So, if the lease has 12 months to go, that's $500 a month for EAP since it stays with the car.
