And Elon said that by the end of 2017 they will be able to have a demonstration showing a Tesla driving itself from LA to NY without anyone touching anything, including charging. That means that at least one path of Superchargers between LA and NY will have to be upgraded to have the "automatic charge connection" feature by the end of next year.
I wonder when they will start upgrading them... (Hopefully that upgrade will solve the reduced charging speed too.)
