Autopilot and Used Tesla X

Whats the oldest Model X year to still have the latest autopilot so future software upgrades will be fully compatible? (I don't want to buy an old one and find out I'm missing out on key future capabilities.)

You probably are referring to the different hardware?

2016 X had MCU1 with AP1, some have AP2 with FSD.
2017 X some had MCU1 with AP2. Some of these AP2 X can be upgraded to HW3. I think there are issues with Sentry mode on AP2.0 where the cameras do not record.

You'll probably want a 2018 model year with hardware 2.5 and up for full self driving and sentry mode to record.
