Autopilot crass stupidity gets 18 month driving ban

Someone got impatient for the FSD feature he paid for..

Not sure why you're jumping all over the guy. Soon enough, Tesla software will allow no one in the driver's seat, and the first time it kills a pedestrian, will you be singing the same song about irresponsibility of the "driver" when none is required?

I don't even know where to begin.

Soon enough is not now is it? For now AP is a driver assistance feature. And we all know the way autopilot is now, there is a chance of things going wrong at any time.

You are talking about a hypothetical scenario where FSD is here. If and when FSD is here and it or any other level 4 or level 5 autonomous system is here then it's on the system if it hits a pedestrian.

You really don't see the difference between this situation and a hypothetical FSD/ level 4 situation?

I believe a buckled seat belt overrides the weight sensor. You don’t want a car going into park because you shifted to scratch an insect bite, etc.

but once upon a time this was happening for sure... was it "fixed" at some point in a firmware update? or is this seat-belt-overides-butt-in-the-seat thing only valid when AP is engages?
