Not sure why you're jumping all over the guy. Soon enough, Tesla software will allow no one in the driver's seat, and the first time it kills a pedestrian, will you be singing the same song about irresponsibility of the "driver" when none is required?

Soon enough is not now is it? For now AP is a driver assistance feature. And we all know the way autopilot is now, there is a chance of things going wrong at any time.
You are talking about a hypothetical scenario where FSD is here. If and when FSD is here and it or any other level 4 or level 5 autonomous system is here then it's on the system if it hits a pedestrian.
You really don't see the difference between this situation and a hypothetical FSD/ level 4 situation?
but once upon a time this was happening for sure... was it "fixed" at some point in a firmware update? or is this seat-belt-overides-butt-in-the-seat thing only valid when AP is engages?
