Autopilot "down the driveway"

Last spring, Tesla was advertising Autopilot on their home page with the claim that this feature would soon enable the Model S to start at a pre-determined time, back down the driveway by itself, and park in front of your house (on private property, of course).

They don't seem to be talking about it anymore. It was one of the reasons why I chose the Autopilot option, and I'd sure like to know if it was for real.

Does anyone else remember this?

I remember it, yes, but still don't see the point unless it spits out the Charger before moving off

Ha! Good one, Shady! Thanks for the reply.

But seriously, we have an extremely narrow driveway, with just enough space between the fence and the house for the Model S to fit with mirrors tucked in. Right now, my wife just backs up v-e-r-y slowly to avoid literally "bouncing off the walls". So I'd envision using this while we're in the car with the charger removed, just to lower her anxiety level a bit. ;-D

Whatever happens with this feature, we're still amazed every time we get behind the wheel.
