Hey everyone. How do you tell what version you have on your car? I am having a hard time finding out where/how to find it.
Other than the build date, there is no way to tell for sure without taking the car apart. When was yours built?
I thought it would be, but TeslaFi is recognizing it as AP 2.0 which prompted my confusion and question.
I think you’d have to get the service centre to confirm. From all I’ve read it’s not easy to know. Sounds like it wasn’t a definitive switch over on the assembly line and there may be some of overlap. I plan on asking the SC my next visit. I have a MX 8/2017.
Tesla claimed to be shipping 2.5 starting in August. Tesla has a new Autopilot ‘2.5’ hardware suite with more computing power for autonomous driving
Does AP2.5 should have a in-cabin camera? or not necessary?! I hope the Model 3 Gear selector will make its way into model x/s
Be cool, Any new Tesla ordered after 08/10/17 will ship with HW ("Hardware") 2.5, though still designated as AP2. Look at this : Tesla Quietly Upgrades Autopilot Hardware in New Cars

I wouldn’t worry. At the current state of affairs there is no practical difference for the user between a 2.0 and 2.5 car. If upgraded HW will be required to achieve the advertised EAP / FSD features, and you have purchased the features, Tesla will upgrade your HW FOC.
I took delivery in Oct 2017. With the recent v9 update, I don't have the dashcam feature. So I guess I have hardware 2.0. Bummer!!!
I just tweeted Elon and Tesla about this. I would think they would upgrade those with 2.0 in order to make the dashcam feature work since that is a version 9 / EAP feature.
