New York presents some unique challenges for Autopilot, and I'm interested to hear where others have found it to work well and where it doesn't
I found it to be pretty dangerous on the Merritt Parkway north of the city since traffic moves at 70-80mph around hairpin turns. Hopefully Tesla will smooth this out over time, but I'm pretty sure that as I exited one of the turns it would have caused an accident if I hadn't been very quick to take over.
I was impressed with performance down the West Side Highway. There was a good reason why Tesla chose this road for their test run with journalists - the lane markings are good.
