Autopilot? Stoplight

Quick question on a stretch of 2 Lane Rd. that was under construction for about five months. They put in a temporary red light. It’s been gone for about five months now we just got our car. When driving down this road with auto pilot on it wants to stop because it thinks there’s a stoplight supposed to be there. Anyway, to report this. Other than stepping on the gas to override it.

It's probably as you indicated - a mapping issue. Tesla gets their maps updated once or twice a year, and source from TomTom and OpenMaps I believe. It'll probably be fixed in the next map update.

Apparently detecting traffic lights is a combination of mapping data and vision. My car sometimes misinterprets lights that aren't traffic lights as traffic lights, but usually only briefly.

Thanks, I get the misinterpretation of lights, but this is in the middle of a two lane road with nothing nearby. So I guess its using some type of previous mapping info?

I assume so. I don’t know how Tesla resolves conflicts between mapping and visual data, which also applies to speed limit signs.
