Autopilot without blind spot warning ???

In my MS 2015 with autopilot 1.0, when in highway and with autopilot engaged, when I want to change lane, it shows a message something like "Check if there's any car on the lane you want to go before".
Shouldn't the car check this itself through the sensors it has?
I never received information like a blind spot car. Is the BSD an option ??? There's any aftermarket kit to upgrade it ? anyone tryed that ?

Autopilot 1 consists of a single forward-facing camera. There are ultrasonic sensors that can see on the sides somewhat, but they have limited range. So that's presumably why the software requires user confirmation that the blind spot is clear.

I've used mine for a month now and it won't auto lane change if the sensors detect a car in the lane (watch the car icon in the center, it will have white or yellow or red arc if it senses an "obstacle" nearby) cars only get displayed if they're in front of you.
