Headed up to the mountains for Presidents' Day but leery of the snow chain hassle?

Or, confident that your Tesla's AWD will get you past Caltrans chain control points, but need to show CHP that you're "carrying chains."

Enter, the AutoSock. A California-approved traction device, but without the mess and hassle of installing chains.

These will fit a Model S with standard 19-inch wheels (245-45-19). Have sold our S in favor of a Model 3 (which we've equipped with the next size smaller AutoSocks), so these are available.

Never used, except to try on for size in the driveway.

Available for local pickup or possible drop-off (LA County -- SFV).

$80 (versus $100 ... plus tax, and shipping delay, if purchased new).

Please PM me to arrange purchase.

Drive safely and enjoy all the amazing snow!

I don't think that they're suited to regular, extended use.

However, at least for SoCal folk, who approach the Sierras from the desert side, they're perfect for short-distance use ... and to have in the car, if challenged at a CHP chain control point. (It's only in the most extreme circumstances that AWD and M+S tires, plus traction control devices in trunk, aren't enough to get you through.)

Coming from the Bay Area, do you ever need to do long slogs on chains going up the 80/50?
