    That graphic confirms what I have suspected: that li-ion battery prices are saturating. Reading Straubel's slides it seem the prices are staying the same but capacity is increasing at ~5%, so at least $/kWh hasn't saturated.

    The interesting point is if Tesla moved to high capacity 3.6Ah cells they could make a Roadster that goes 366 miles (by my calculations given 2.4Ah for current one) for around the same pack size (don't know about weight). I imagine the 300 mile Model S will likely be using such cells to save volume and help packaging.

    What I am hoping for is for automotive li-ion batteries, we move to larger cells and maybe save money from the cell packaging. I think there is still room for optimization.
