Avatar update for app and car after complete color change

Yeah, it might have been just for the color change due to the car coming from Tesla with the VIN matching the old color. Or just the excuse before they knew how to do it...but either way it's all good now.

After a visit to the Monterey/ Seaside SC they told me they were more than happy to change the avatar colors but were limited to the oem options for the car- they did not have the ability to do custom colors that weren't in their system.

I had the San Diego Service Center update the wheels Avatar on my Model X from silver to black but now the problem is that the phone/ipad app wont update. They recommended uninstall/reinstall the app but had no no success. I also contacted Tesla Customer Service and they issued an Engineering ticket to look into the problem. Anyone here able to update the Avatar on their phone apps? If so, how?

Stumbled on this thread because I have a similar issue. Swapping out staggered grey 21" turbines with square silver ones. Tech at service center said they could do it. Only limitation was that he said they could only do OEM wheels.

My local SC today updated my avatar today as I did a color change...they also updated my rim color (even though those aren’t my rims). At first they said they can only do my wheels but I pushed them.

Actually I noticed that’s too but I found other screenshots with my old color where the position was changed also. I think it dependent on where the car is facing but not sure.

Currently trying to get tesla service in the uk to add the rear spoiler, responses so far have been mobile tech can not do this , then i asked if i could bring the car in to a SC , reply was , had the spoiler supplied and fitted by tesla. I purchased second hand but i gave tesla the part number. Told they will be looking in to it. Fingers crossed.

i get the feeling if tesla supplied and fitted they would do it.

Friendly service advisors can do it. Takes them literally 1 min.
