I just got this text!

Hello from the Tesla Delivery team. Our logistics team has confirmed a Model 3 matching your order is available this week. Are you available to take delivery between 9/26 and 9/30?

WTF.
I just got the same Text.... 510 area code. Not holding my breath, but I did speak to a rep today who said that they were going to try to Match my order with a VIN.

I received the text as well from a 781 area code. Being in Texas(Dallas), I was under the impression the car needs to be paid in full before even it. Wondering if this is a prank, no email, no change on account but I was getting replies that I would be reached out by Tesla near to the date of my delivery. They offered between 9/26 and 9/30. EOQ Push seems real. The orders in limbo are getting sorted out now probably ?

I’d be darn sure you call the 888# before moving a dime. If this is scammers, this is exactly what they want.

Wow..what a crazy RollerCoaster ride. I was one of those who received the 9/6 mass email about scheduling delivery. Received VIN and MVPA on 9/10 and the delivery scheduled for 9/22 originally which got pushed to 10/3 and then 10/4. This morning (9/25) I get a call informing that the vehicle is here and can be ready for pickup in 3 hours  and if I pickup today I can get the 1 year supercharging.

Arranged the insurance and certified check in 2 hours and took the delivery at Rt 17 NJ center. The overall process took 20-30 mins. At the end when I asked to confirm 1 year of supercharging, the Delivery specialist said there is some confusion and they can’t offer free supercharging but they will offer my 1st year maintenance free. I thought this was a better deal for me anyway so I took it.

It was pouring outside and they had outdoor “tent” setup where the car was parked. I could barely inspect the basics while getting soaked. The color looked flawless except one minor chip on the bumper. The panel gaps generally look ok but the gap with the trunk closed feels too large. I am not sure if this is “within tolerance”. I will upload pictures later. I suspect that there was water leak in the trunk but can’t be too sure considering it was pouring outside and it’s possible that I got the water in while inspecting the trunk. I will report to Tesla anyway.

Other issues (I am sure fixable), auto lane change does not work, front/rear/side sensors don’t seem to work (no parking assist), seat heaters don’t work.

Other than that it’s a great car, drives fantastic. I am an S owner and very familiar with the acceleration but I could feel more acceleration on M3 than my S. This feels like riding a go-cart.

I will report back Tesla’s response to the issues reported.

I got the text too. Same exact wording including dates from a 510 number.

The funny thing is that I called the 888 number for the first time today to check on my order after following the advice on this forum. I do have a reservation from 4/4/16 and config date of 6/29. I figured I’d give it a shot since some have had luck with that after being early reservation holders.

I won’t get my hopes up, but here’s to it not being a scam!

Angel:
Tesla does unconventional things, so it’s somewhat to be expected.
This could be a weed-out for who has their money ready fo go and can actually take delivery.
Maybe this is the “working off a matrix of options” everyone has been asking for.

Devil:
I’ve seen about 500 people vocalize about this in the past hour. So how many got it and aren’t present online about it?
Does Tesla have that many matching configs they’d just happen to have not delivered? Seriously?
If I was a scammer, and upset at Tesla..this would be a perfect time to leverage the ready-to-pop folks sitting there with money in hand.

Took delivery today in Bellevue, WA (Non-P AWD, black on black, 19's, no EAP). Delivery went smoothly and the car is pretty much perfect aside from a couple of very minor cosmetic issues and a possibly non-functioning tpms (Noticed later that none of the tires show pressure rating in the UI).

After day 1 I'm amazed at just how good this thing is. I sort of had an idea, but not really.
