Wow..what a crazy RollerCoaster ride. I was one of those who received the 9/6 mass email about scheduling delivery. Received VIN and MVPA on 9/10 and the delivery scheduled for 9/22 originally which got pushed to 10/3 and then 10/4. This morning (9/25) I get a call informing that the vehicle is here and can be ready for pickup in 3 hours
and if I pickup today I can get the 1 year supercharging.
Arranged the insurance and certified check in 2 hours and took the delivery at Rt 17 NJ center. The overall process took 20-30 mins. At the end when I asked to confirm 1 year of supercharging, the Delivery specialist said there is some confusion and they can’t offer free supercharging but they will offer my 1st year maintenance free. I thought this was a better deal for me anyway so I took it.
It was pouring outside and they had outdoor “tent” setup where the car was parked. I could barely inspect the basics while getting soaked. The color looked flawless except one minor chip on the bumper. The panel gaps generally look ok but the gap with the trunk closed feels too large. I am not sure if this is “within tolerance”. I will upload pictures later. I suspect that there was water leak in the trunk but can’t be too sure considering it was pouring outside and it’s possible that I got the water in while inspecting the trunk. I will report to Tesla anyway.
Other issues (I am sure fixable), auto lane change does not work, front/rear/side sensors don’t seem to work (no parking assist), seat heaters don’t work.
Other than that it’s a great car, drives fantastic. I am an S owner and very familiar with the acceleration but I could feel more acceleration on M3 than my S. This feels like riding a go-cart.
I will report back Tesla’s response to the issues reported.
