AWD delivery thread

Same here, my ISA has contacted me multiple times to answer questions and also responded via emails. Tentative delivery date is 8/20 but I am out of country and asked him if he could do 8/23. He said he will try but no guarantees, I asked him for VIN and he said DS will get in touch when assigned.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster... no VIN but scheduling for delivery? Or are they withholding because you can’t be sure if you can take delivery or not?
 
News!!! VIN ending 056105 assigned today for AWD with WHITE interior. "Stats" below
Reserved 3/31/16 online the second it became available
Ordered 6/26/18: AWD Performance red exterior white interior, 18", EAP, FSD.
Downgraded in July from Performance w/ white to just AWD w/ white in July within minutes of the change being available.
VIN today. Located in Boston, previous owner.
Also, to further build on my post above, I first noticed this morning that my edit button was gone and that it was requesting loan info on my myTesla page. I was later contacted via an unprompted email from the "Tesla support team", saying I had a VIN. So all the movement was within the past ~18 hours. In that email, she also said my car was "finishing production", not that it had completed. From what I gather, it should be done probably today. I sent her an email with some questions and I'll update once I hear back, but basic AWD's with White interior are definitely starting!

Newbie here- sorry if this is a dumb question:

Reserved 5/2016, configured 7/31 right after the first test drive was available and taken. Midnight silver, non-P AWD, 19” wheels. Delivery planned for Mt Kisco NY. Oct-dec time frame. Stuck on “next steps awaiting contract etc” page without any other contact of any sort since I plunked down the non refundable deposit.

Question is- people keep talking about emailing ISAs (internet service advisor?)- how does one even get an email address of one of these people? I’ve had zero human contact the entire way except for the test drive itself. And when you call customer service it’s an hour+ of waiting. Thanks in advance.

Hi Franco,

If you configured on 7/31, there will be quite a few people in front of you. I wouldn't expect contact from Tesla for quite some time.
 
I’m super antsy to get the car but am okay with the process as long as it comes before the tax break starts to phase out. I would be really annoyed if oct-dec turns into 2019.

Honestly my impression is that build quality has improved over time so waiting a few more weeks is not the end of the world other than just the wanting it NOW thing lol
 
As many here suspected, Tesla is under-promising and over-delivering. Just got the call to schedule delivery.

Ordered 5/20/2018 Black, LR premium only options. I was not able to configure AWD.
I updated to AWD 5/21/2018 by local delivery specialist and has been confirmed by with email. After an email every week on 6/29/2018 I received a screenshot with the change order number.
My Online order page has accepted all of my applications but the it's still has pricing incorrect without AWD and untouched since 5/20/2018. Last week got in change of title page saying that "My order is being evaluated by a experienced delivery specialist who will be in touch with me prior to delivery" and then early this week I have my referral code page. And as my luck has gone I have two people I can get referrals from but neither of them want the production model. As of today I am still floating around in the clouds. As time marches on and new updates on software, hardware, key fobs continue to be out there and as long as I get AWD before the snow and the full rebate all is good.

Add another to the "under-promise, over-delivery" category: received my ISA call, VIN (637xx), and delivery date (8/31) tonight! Delivery estimate had been Sept - Nov.

Can anyone confirm that I should be waiting at the "Complete the steps below to take delivery" step while I wait for my VIN/delivery? I've finished everything (green checks) and the Payment Method is a grey circle with three dots (selected financing through Tesla, though I'll also shop my credit union). The status message makes it seem like I still need to complete steps, but there aren't any left to do...

Yes, you're exactly where you need to be. My account page looked exactly the same until this past Sunday, when the gray dots by "Payment Details" became yellow, and the "Payment Details" section became a form asking me for details about my loan. In your case, this will become a credit application to finance through Tesla. After you fill that out, you will advance to the new confirmation screen, where you will be asked to confirm all of your delivery details. From that point, you should get a call and/or email from an ISA within 2-3 days to schedule delivery.

Sat next to a guy this evening who lives in my town, stood in line with me for original reservation, put his AWD order in three days after I did, and he takes delivery tomorrow. Still no word on mine.

The differences:
I ordered June 26, he ordered june 29
I chose Fremont for delivery, he chose the slightly closer "local" SC of Rocklin
His is white with 19" wheels. Mine is blue with 18" aeros.

HIs is being delivered tomorrow. Mine is MIA. :sigh:
It is the closest comparison I've had yet.
 
Received a call from the ISA on Tuesday and he gave me a VIN of 549xx. We didn't schedule a delivery date yet, but the ETA is 8/18.
