... and my delivery date was pushed back 4 days. Kind of sucks when you paid in full that you can’t get a solid delivery date.

FYI, Tesla purchase in Texas must be paid in full before car is shipped. So, please don’t tell me I should have waited to pay, I couldn’t.

THERE IS HELP! I reached out Mark Gomez after reading this thread. the dude called me back at 8:30 PM. VERY NICE GUY and He is highly motivated to help people that are having issues. I am at 12 weeks and the end of my 60 day financial approval window. I was promised an end of Q2 delivery, which never happened. I called several times a week to my local store checking for a VIN assignment. I emailed my delivery specialist weekly as well. NOTHING but, "Sorry, no vin, no cars available". Mark has access to VINs to a higher lever and things behind the scenes. Within minutes, he found me two option available at my Local store. Thats right, at my local store, the one they said there is nothing! Granted, I took a couple concessions, by going dowm to Gemini Wheels and no trailer hitch. All of which I can add myself for cheaper anyway. The main thing is I got my white on white! Mark said it was okay for me to give his email: [email protected] This guy is there and eager to help people with issues. I cannot praise him enough and will let ELON know on his Twitter! Cheers!

180 days of waiting is over. Some humor for white interiors. They left the factory sticker on one of the seats. The name? Assy Phantom. Got to love humor

My delivery was yesterday. Black over white. VIN in the 327xx range.

I rejected the car due to paint. Otherwise, the body panels/rear seats were all pretty darn good. The right side single seat wouldn't drop by itself unless the left two were down (probably an easy fix).

Now, I wait to be re-assigned a new VIN.

Black exterior and white interior?

Yes.

If I'm being completely fair the drivers side rear door was a bit out of alignment. When I mentioned it I got the "within spec" comment. Also, the headliner was filthy. How does it even get that bad? Interestingly, they used some interior detailer and it was all gone. Why they don't do that before you arrive to pick up the car is a mystery.

For me, the most disappointing part is that I would have guessed that they would have gotten this right by now. When I picked up my M3P in May of last year it was essentially perfect. Why has the quality dropped so much?

I hear ya. They should spend half hour self inspecting the car before customer arrives.

BTW, this is the same configuration as what I have. When did you reserve it? And where are you located?

I just got a delivery date , Aug 4 to 6, with same VIN as yours (327xx). Wondering if I’m getting your reject??

Same configuration as yours ( Black with White interior, 20 inch wheels , no FSD. )

15 miles on odometer.

what paint issue did you see?

I’m in NJ.

I think we confirmed via PM that it isn't the same car, but on the right edge of the rear tail gate was about a dime sized "mess" underneath the paint. Looked like a really old car that has started to rust underneath the paint. Also, drivers side front quarter panel, there was a long "ding" on the top of the fender. Visible in reflections, and you could feel it if you ran your finger over it.

Good luck!

As an update, we had our W/W LR 19" Model Y delivered on Saturday in eastern PA. Delivery went smoothly and quality was, overall, very good. The personnel were very attentive and diligent. They were very busy and delivered at least 4 more Model Y's the same time we were there. We bought the car for my wife and it is everything she's dreamed of. I think I will now order a LR Model 3 for myself to replace my e-Golf...

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I will give it a through inspection.
Just out of curiosity, which location did you go to pick the car? Were their many cars with the same configuration as yours?
Also, when did you get the notification to pick the car? I got notification on 8/2 for 8/4 pickup. Sounds a bit to quick for my liking.

I picked up my m3p and my Y (or attempted to) at Cherry Hill. It's 15 minutes from my house, so very convenient.

No other black model Ys that I could see.

I heard from my delivery guy about 2 weeks in advance that I was assigned a VIN, and he was tracking the car from CA to Chicago (by train), and then from Chicago to NJ (by truck). I was getting updates just about every 2-3 days for those 2 weeks.

Well, since I found out just yesterday to pick up the car on this tues, more than likely this car was ordered for someone else and they didn’t take he delivery for one reason or the other. I will try to call my delivery person.

does 15 miles on the odometer sounds ok? Seems a bit high as my M3 has only 8. I’m not too picky, but also don’t want to get someone else’s reject.

Thanks again.
