Tesla cars will now provide a soundtrack for car thieves as a new security feature, Chief Executive Elon Musk announced in a tweet.

Owners can now elect to blast Bach’s Toccata and Fugue – the famed organ tune used in movies to illustrate horror and villainy – when the car’s sensors and cameras detect a potential break-in. Musk said the feature will also play “keep Summer safe”, a reference to a scene from the animated show Rick and Morty where a vehicle’s AI system kills to protect its occupant.

The musical alarm will be part of “Sentry Mode,” a security upgrade that Musk revealed in a tweet last week. While full details of the mode are slim, it’s expected to leverage the car’s cameras for 360 degree surveillance.

Musk said a “rough beta” would be released in 2 to 3 weeks.

Unlike the car alarm, I'm betting the music comes from the MCU, so how long before the thieves figure out all they have to do is hold the two scroll wheels to cause the MCU reboot to shut the car up? Or, maybe instead of just smashing the window, they will also smash the main screen to keep the car silent. It will conveniently block any mobile notifications too. There are drawbacks to packing all functionality into a single computer.
