Well gang, I am back in a Y. My first tesla was a 2020 Model Y LR with full autopilot. I fell in love and desired slightly more so I ended up getting a sweet deal on a p100d trade. Right off the bat I was a little disappointed with the p100d...don't get me wrong, the car is incredible especially the power but I was little shocked that the technology of the Y was one gen ahead of it and I was missing out on the little things I enjoyed about my Y so much...some of those factors were:
*having my phone as the key...can't do that on the p100d
*having a vertical screen on the p100d was disappointing...I saw they fixed that on the new model s though
*the Y has nothing obstructing the windshield, just simple and a full view, the p100d had a big dash because of the 2 screens
*many of the the new updates didnt apply to the p100d (car wash mode etc) because the technology is one gen behind
Last but not least my p100d never ran what tesla claimed...not even close actually...my best run was 11.1@119 and a 0-60 of 2.6. To get that to happen there had to be an awful lot of planning...first I needed to warm up my battery in luda plus mode, sometimes that took 45 min. Then I needed to make sure i was as close to 100 percent as possible...then you hope you make the pass without the battery getting too hot and needing to cool down...haha...kinda nuts. Yesterday I charged the MYP up and did a quick pass...11.9@115. Is it slower, sure but it's still plenty fast. haha.
Anyways, I decided that the car prices are so crazy right now I would see if my good friend who runs a local dealer would give me slightly more than i paid for the p100d a few months ago. He did...he then informed me he had several Y's to choose from all around the same price (65-70K). I ended up choosing a MYP with 13k on the odo...love the color...the only negative so far is it didnt have the full autopilot...i did subscribe to it but probably wont keep it since it's 200 a month. I'll see how much I use it before I really decide though. Here are some pics...sorry for the long post, but for me the MY is the king of tesla's...i have now drive ALL the cars (had a 3 and x on loaner before) and the Y is by far my fave.
Here are some pics...only issue i have found so far with the y is a weird click when my drivers side window goes up or down...mobile service is coming friday to check it out.
