Back seat passenger play games with front seats empty

Does anyone know the trick to keep the games playing with only back seats occupied?
I tried to have my rear-seat passenger keep playing a game on the main screen with a controller while he sat in the back seat. I had the climate system on Keep. But as soon as I closed the driver's door, the main screen turned off. The passenger had to move to the front seat to play while I was away.

I would think the keep function simply allows the HVAC system to continue to function while shutting down the rest. Try camp mode or leave your phone/fob in the car with the passenger.
