I was told to install the Neo Gateway even though I have Power Walls and the Backup Gateway. Do I really need the Neo Gateway? Mainly I am trying to find in the Tesla App where is shows total kWh production from Solar for Daily/Weekly/Monthly etc. Under PERFORMANCE I just see percentages. Maybe my system is too new with only 1 day of usage. I do have the Neo Gateway still connected and hoping to remove it if not needed.
Backup Gateway or Neo Gateway
For homes with Powerwall, a Backup Gateway is installed for system monitoring and accessing Powerwall energy in case of a power outage.
For homes without Powerwall, a Neo Gateway is installed for system monitoring.
In both instances, you need an always-on Internet connection, a router with an open Ethernet port, an AC power outlet, and the Gateway.
