Update...
While there was miscommunication at the time of sale, you at least got what you paid for. Would it be nice if Tesla gave you a little something for the misunderstanding, sure, but they've chosen not to. If you want FSD, you need to pay the extra $3k just as you would've had to do when you originally purchased the car. You may find that EAP has all of the features you need anyway and can save the $3k.

Perhaps the best thing to do at this point is consider it a lesson learned -- don't rely solely on what a salesperson tells you and have all important factors regarding a purchase clearly put in writing.

FSD capable is a term that Tesla uses to refer to a vehicle that is eligible for FSD software purchase, it does not mean that FSD has been activated on the vehicle.

If you are referring to "FSD capability", that means the vehicle actually has it and not just that it is eligible for the software purchase.

He tried suggesting $3k is a deal because we paid $5k and should be paying an additional $7k for FSD for a total of $12k for the upgrade. Does that sound right to y’all???
He is misrepresenting again. Your cost will always be the upgrade from EAP and not from AP that is standard today. The 7k he is representing is from current AP and not EAP. To be fair, I have never had a knowledgeable sales person with any manufacturer. You best do your own light research. This particular subject is well documented and not complicated.
