Ball Mount has a lot of movement in the Receiver Tube

Hello everyone,

As the title says, I have the factory installed hitch mount and bout a 2" ball mount from Loews, but it feels fairly loose. I can shake it up and down. When I put a trailer on it was bumping like mad, the most anxious I've ever been driving. I picked the trailer up at a u-haul and dropped it off at the next u-haul I found only drove 10 miles.

Is this normal or is there a better ball mount I can get that will fit tightly?

Pretty normal. There are a few other posts that seem to suggest maybe the tesla hitch receiver might have slightly larger tolerances than the average receiver. But almost all receivers I've had in various cars/trucks, all rattle. You can buy things to stop it, or the cheap way it to wrap some electrical tape around the hitch and that sound at least dampen the sound.

Personally I am a big fan of the "anti-rattle" devices - cheap and very effective.

Thanks, I'll look into anti-rattle devices, but this was jarring, haha. Felt like the hitch was going to snap off.
