If you are buying a Model X, and own a business, you should be able to pay cash or finance, and write off immediately the first $25,000 of the purchase as a Section 179 expense. Might be as good, or better than the tax benefits of leasing. The balance of the purchase price is most likely available to get quickly depreciated. Very favorable time to be purchasing a business SUV. Key is that the gross vehicle weight of a Model X (includes vehicle weight + carrying capacity) is over 6,000 lbs. Does not work with Model S.
