Battery degradation or just goofed calculations?

I have the opposite experience. After the last 6.1 update, I gained more than 20 miles. Rated 90% was 224, now 245, and 100% is now 274, where it was previously 251 or so.

A pack, 33,000 miles, Dec 2012 delivery.

In the past, I've seen big jumps after a software update that disappear after the first charge/day, but it's been more than a week now, including running the battery down to 8 miles then charging back to 90%.

This just boggles my mind. I too have an A-pack with just a few months less service and a few more miles. The one Range Charge I did when the car was < 6 months old yielded 265 miles on the nose and 90% used to give me about 245 miles. I'm now seeing 218 or so at 90%.

I've never, ever see a change, either up or down when new firmware comes. Not even by 1 mile. I'm really curious as to what makes me so special.

Me too. I've never seen a range bump after 5.8 or thereabouts which contained a fix for those who charge in the middle of the range. After that update, my mid-range charge showed a bit higher but the 100% charge did not change. It simply made the estimate below 90% more linear. I have a B battery with just over 20,000 miles. My 90% charge sits at either 229 or 232 rated miles, depending on whether or not I have Range Mode enabled (higher number).

I've gotten a tiny bit of a range increase going from 6.0 to 6.1. This is what I've noticed thus far. I've got an MS 85, 2 months old with a bit over 10,000km. I've charged it to 100% at least 3 dozen times now.

These numbers are right off the main screen. I switched between units in the settings so no conversion. For 100% charge:

With range mode off, I got rated range of 431km/268mi
With range mode on, I got rated range of 435km/271mi

The app is slightly lower at 181wH/km giving me a projected range of 320km. To make it the same as on the dash of 317km, it was 182wH/km

So 182wH/km * 1.608 = 293wH/mile

The app says 150.5 rated km added, 27.52kWh. I know I get 431km (range mode off) and 435km (range mode on) at 100% charged. So
431/150.5*27.52 = 78.81kWh
435/150.5*27.52 = 79.54kWh

or to put it another way, 27.52kWh/150.5 = 182wH/km *1.608 = 294kW/mile
