Battery pack swap out today- question for y'all

so i keep going into my app to see if any action with my car

i wake up today and car is online

battery is plugged in--- with like 25 kms of juice

hood is open

charge port is open

it's slowly draining out--- now at 4 kms of range

software update 2019.32.12.3 is happening now

so question--- when they install a battery pack do they have to drain it and update software b4 charging it up?

They have to drain the old battery pack below a certain level for shipping. They have to update the firmware on the car to get it to detect the new hardware.

car took software update or 2....now it's sitting with 153 km of charge and port open/ frunk open.....?
