Battery replacement 11/15 P90D

Just found this thread while searching and hope this helps someone.
I have a 2014 P85D with 69k CPO. Brought it in 4 times complaining about the battery and finally they took it and admitted that the battery needs to be replaced. They said they don't know if it's another 85kwh or a 90kwh battery until it comes in. Let's pray it's a 90kwh.

I think it is almost certain you will get a 90 - based on what I have read for the P85Ds.

Congrats....I have taken it to Tesla 3 times. My range loss is similar I have a 90d 294 range new...get 249, 45 miles loss in range at 100%, 15% range loss 60k miles. I have filed complaints aginst Tesla on the dca.ca.gov and the new motor vehicle board. They have denied both times. Not sure what else to do???

Like me you need to get range loss "up" - 15% is presumably not enough. Mine is around 12% down so far at 37k miles. Joys of the 90 kWh V1 battery!

symptoms were range. I was only get 180 miles on a 90pct charge, yes I have a heavy foot but I don't think it's normal still. Then the batter would say it's complete charge was at 98pct and only had 201 miles full charge.

get the car back in 10 days so let's pray!

just genuinely curious how heavy you foot is? also how often do you heat the battery to plus mode for more power?

I'm always 350-450wh of use it says. The tech said that most drivers are 250ish...I was like year f'n right no way.

I never use the insane+ option but I am always in sport mode and insane mode.

I think the thing that bugs me most is how Tesla is claiming a 1 million mile warranty, and increasing range on the model 3. Why wont they take responsibility for all 90Kwh Version 1 batteries?? Tesla has been claiming for years how their battery technology is so good, and you would only see 5-8% degradation after 200k miles and then it would flatline.

They need to support all 90 Kw V1, with an option to upgrade or fix. Those of us who paid extra for long range of 294 miles, and can only charge to 249, and then really only get 200 ish real world miles feel totally taken. Stand by your 8 year warranty that you promised.

My other EVs that cost 1/5 of the Tesla, have not degraded as much.

Here is some data released from elektrek.com on Tesla battery degradation. Prior to buying my car, I used this data as a reason to go forward with the purchase. I have graphed my actual degradation on the graph as an overlay. My data is literally "off the charts"

About 6 months ago, Tesla Service center told me to stop supercharging, even though my car has lifetime free supercharging. I now try to charge at 16a-22amps on Level2. The degradation has still not stopped.

"HAHAHA" would be my response.

I'd keep charging it at the SC and keep complaining as supercharging was one of the reasons why we buy and drive these things!

It involves a lot more than a software upgrade. You have to go through all the HV electronics in the car and upgrade things.

The bad part is a full charge for my P90D is 248 miles and I actually get about 190

i have exact same issue. bought the car from used tesla website where they advertise 270 mile range and 2.6 acceleration. i barely can get actual 200 miles driven on full charge although 100% charge show 245 miles and acceleration: could not get below 3 seconds even on race track. seems like P90D (first edition) is exact same as P85D but Tesla found a way to charge more money

then when you ask why the car you bought only charges to 412 kms instead of 434 kms, they give you a bunch of BS about 'it's an algorithm...just use %'

yeah, no. There's an EPA consumption rating which for the P90D was around 195 wh/km (314 wh/mile) and if you meet that, you should in theory get that full range. If there's limited capacity in the battery then you're losing out on what was advertised to you. Not to mention that the '90' battery is really an 82 battery I believe.

My car is a V1, and achieves about 247 miles on a 100% charge. IT's a 2015 099XXX VIN range.

Anyone know when V2 started? Vin Range? Curious as I was considering replacing my V1 2015 P90D with a 2016 non-facelift car that was lower mileage, similar price vs. trade but with a few packages I didn't have with my original car. The target car is a 137,000 VIN with an April 2016 build date, and I was wondering if maybe it was V2.

From what I've gathered the facelift VIN split is around 138,000, in May 2016.

I heard once that all facelift cars are V3, but the dragtimes car I think was a facelift with a V2 battery. So there goes that.

There's apparently a google docs spreadsheet with tons of P90D owner data. Anyone know where that is?

Having just met with the Tesla lawyer during arbitration, they have told me my 2016 90d, only has a range of 270 when new. Not the 294 they advertise on their website for 2015-2016 90d. They said that I should not confuse the "sales website" (294) with the actual moroney sticker. Feels a lot like bait and switch

Following up with myself, here's what I've gathered. There may be some older cars that have a V3 or V2 and should be in the V1 or V2 range. Some cars with bad batteries got replacements

VIN#
V1 - latest I've seen is 114,000 but I don't know about between 114,000 to 124,000...could be V1 or V2?
V2 - 124,XXX is the earliest I can find; 139,7XX is the latest I can find
V3 - 144,XXX is the earliest I can find

Build Date
V1 - all cars from 2015 but I don't have data showing the end of V1. Latest V1 built car I can see in the spreadsheets is a 114,000 VIN which is approximately November 2015 build date
V2 - earliest I can find build date was FEB 2016; 139,7XX is the latest I can find and that build date is May 16, 2016 which lines up as June 1st 2016 is the supposed start of V3 for ludicrous mode P90D cars
V3 - June 2016 is the earliest I can find

2.6 acceleration may be with 1ft rollout. I just learned that Tesla lists performance models 0-60 with 1ft rollout.
