Dammit. That's really lame. I wonder why they chose MCU2. In the long run it will probably end up being the least manufactured hardware.

There are already 100k+ MCU1 cars and all new cars are MCU3. Really doesn't make sense.

MCU3?? Is that new? I know of HW3 for autopilot/FSD but always thought cars were still delivered with MCU2

You’re correct, just more confusion by people that don’t understand the difference.

Since Tesla (Musk) evidently believes providing these entertainment features are so important (especially for future use while the vehicles are operating under FSD), Tesla should be looking at ways to provide the needed hardware upgrades to MCU1 vehicles (especially those that have FSD activated).

Though I still would prefer they expend these resources on fixing the long-standing bugs and obvious design flaws in the current software (after 7 years - we still can't get the media player to remember the source/file/position after returning to a vehicle...).

Why "especially" FSD cars, given the MCU has essentially zero functional relationship with the Autopilot computer?
